低音提琴/卓涵涵 Han Han Cho

卓涵涵為臺北市立交響樂團(TSO)低音提琴首席。回國後室內樂演出包含與臺灣純絃的演出,2014和2013於關渡藝術節的演出。曾與新店高中協奏演出庫賽夫斯基低音提琴協奏曲,與Taiwan Connection節慶樂團協奏演出波特西尼之夢遊女幻想曲,於北京國際低音提琴音樂節舉辦講座音樂會…等演出。樂團經歷方面,卓涵涵曾任美國拉荷亞節慶樂團首席、國家交響樂團低音提琴副首席。波士頓環球報樂評曾讚譽卓涵涵之首席領導能力。
卓涵涵於2013年擔任國際低音提琴協會(International Society of Bassists)15至18歲組低音提琴比賽主席。個人比賽方面,卓涵涵曾獲得日本泉之森低音提琴國際比賽第三名。求學階段曾獲得國立臺北藝術大學協奏曲比賽弦樂組冠軍、臺北市立交響樂團協奏曲比賽低音提琴組冠軍、五度臺灣音樂比賽低音提琴組冠軍。
卓涵涵為2008年教育部留學獎學金獲獎人,2010年美國加州大學聖地牙哥分校演奏博士畢業,返臺後曾於北京低音提琴音樂節與美國舊金山國際低音提琴協會年會舉行獨奏會,在Taiwan Connection音樂節、美國聖地牙哥拉荷亞音樂節、加拿大維多利亞音樂節等演出獨奏或室內樂。國際媒體報導方面,臺灣表演藝術雜誌、英國低音提琴雜誌Double Bassist、國際低音提琴雜誌Bass World和2008年國際低音提琴協會月曆International Society of Bassists曾專文介紹卓涵涵,在2004年,國際低音提琴協會於2004年贈琴與卓涵涵。
專輯出版方面,2004年卓涵涵出版個人實況音樂會DVD《現代音樂晚安故事集(Contemporary Bedtime Stories)》(2005, Lemur Music)。2007年與低音提琴大師蓋瑞卡爾Gary Karr錄製CD 《39歲舒曼作品集(Poetic Schumann at 39)》(2009, Amati Productions),於2009年出版。這些出版品均受到國際低音提琴雜誌佳評。

Han Han Cho is presently the principal bassist of Taipei Symphony Orchestra (TSO). Some of her chamber music performances after returning to Taiwan include those with Taiwan Pure Strings and at the Kuandu Arts Festival in 2013 and 2014. She has joined Hsin Tien Senior High School to play the Double Bass Concerto Op. 3 by Sergey Alexandrovitch Koussevitzky, and performed Bottesini’s La Sonnambula Fantasy with the Taiwan Connection Chamber Orchestra. She has also held concerts and lectures at the Beijing International Double Bass Festival. She had been the principal in La Jolla, US, and the assistant principal bassist of Taiwan’s National Symphony Orchestra. The Boston Globe has praised highly of Cho’s capacity to lead as a principal.
Cho acted as the chair of International Society of Bassists (ISB) Double Bass Performance Competition for the age 15-18 Division in 2013. In terms of personal achievements in competitions, she has been the recipient of multiple international awards and honors, including the third prize at Japan’s Izuminomori International Double Bass/ Cello Competition. When she was still attending school, she won the first place of the strings division in the concerto competition of National Taiwan University of Arts, the first place of the double bass division in the concerto competition of TSO, and was a five-time-champion of the double bass division in the National Student Competition of Music.
Cho won the Government Scholarship to Study Abroad in 2008 and in 2010, she received her PhD in performance in University of California, San Diego. After returning to Taiwan, she has held recitals at the Beijing International Double Bass Festival, the annually held ISB convention in San Francisco, and performed in Taiwan Connection Music Festival, in La Jolla in the US, and Victoria in Canada. She was a featured artist in several music publications, including Taiwan’s Performing Arts Review, UK’s Double Bassist, the Bass World, and the ISB calendar in 2008. In 2004, Cho received a bass as an honor from the ISB.
In regard to her records, Cho released her live concert DVD titled Contemporary Bedtime Stories with Lemur Music in 2004, and Poetic Schumann at 39, a two-disc set featuring double bass virtuoso Gary Karr with Amati Production in 2009. These records have received excellent reviews from Bass World.
